LOOKS | Documentary Film

LOOKS Documentary expands the awareness of global society in the areas of appearance, aesthetics, and their impact on quality of life.

The campaign includes a series of feature-length documentary films, also promoted through an online mini-series and live conferences. LOOKS combines a wide range of visual techniques, including 3D and 2D animation, as well as elements of drawing, painting, and sculpture, seamlessly blended with expert interviews and live-action footage.

Why is LOOKS being created?

Even recruitment specialists admit that appearance may have a stronger impact on a career than an impressive CV. Unfortunately, aesthetics has been reduced to applying creams, while in reality it is a field of philosophy focused on appearance. Human appearance, like that of other objects, can be understood beyond a simple “beautiful–ugly” scale.

Dentistry in LOOKS

LOOKS creates a unique opportunity to bring an important social mission to a global audience. The smile shapes first impressions, trust and confidence, and oral health is a foundation of the health of the whole body. A special pillar of the mission is the children’s thread: malocclusion and developmental issues may influence the growth of the face and jaws, breathing, posture and long-term quality of life.

Because of their highly specialized nature, dental topics rarely reach mainstream audiences. For most people the dentist is a duty, not a story, and millions of parents remain unaware of how much oral health shapes a child’s development.

LOOKS presents this world differently, combining documentary storytelling with artistic visuals and animation to give the subject the cultural weight it deserves.

Partners

Rather than a journalistic investigation, LOOKS is an educational documentary created in collaboration with experts and brands that work with these subjects every day. The film engages experts from fields such as orthodontics, aesthetic medicine, health, fashion, fitness, design, architecture, construction, technology, and others. Among the experts featured will be, among others, the internationally recognized plastic surgeon Dr. Patrick Treacy, who was Michael Jackson’s doctor during his time in Ireland.

One of the global sponsors of the film is CeraThrive.

Production studio

The documentary is produced by a team led by Paweł Lipka, whose production studio produced animation for the internationally acclaimed TV series The Garfield Show. The project’s creator has also been involved in numerous multimedia social campaigns and educational projects, including work for Orange, Amazon, and KGHM.
